From the “I can’t believe they just did that” file, tonight’s kickoff show of the Black Tyranny tour, featuring Machine Head, Arch Enemy, Throwdown and Sanctity was moved at the last minute because Disney, the owner of the HOB Anaheim property, objected to the band’s dark imagery and “undesirable” fans. Read more on the subject here.
While I can agree with the undesirability of some Throwdown fans, this move strikes me as complete and utter shit. HOB features tons of shitty airbrushed art immortalizing heroin addicts, philanderers and all around bad dudes. They sell alcohol, for chrissakes, which is probably the most widely abused drug on the planet. But dark imagery? Apparently that’s just too much.
